CARTA 3 — Team Recommendations: Best Charging Practices

Updated Oct 12, 2026 2 min read

Proper charging habits help maintain reliable performance and support the long-term health of your CARTA 3 battery. The CARTA 3 uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and supports both USB-C and wireless charging. For the best results, use approved charging equipment, avoid unnecessary overcharging, and keep the device in a safe environment while it charges.

Before First Use

Fully charge your CARTA 3 before using it for the first time. This helps ensure the device is ready for setup, updates, and your first session.

Use the Correct Charger

When charging by USB-C, use the included cable with an approved, compatible power source rated at:

  • 5V/3A
  • 9V/2A

The CARTA 3 also supports wireless charging. Avoid uncertified chargers, damaged cables, or incompatible power supplies, as these may cause slow charging, reduce battery life, or damage the device.

Charge Before the Battery Gets Too Low

Our team recommends charging your CARTA 3 when the battery indicator reaches yellow rather than regularly allowing it to drain completely. The battery indicator displays:

  • Green: 75% or higher
  • Blue: 50% or higher
  • Yellow: 25% or higher
  • Red: 10% or higher

The manual specifically recommends charging when the indicator reaches yellow to support optimal performance and battery longevity. It also notes that keeping the battery from dropping below 40% can help prolong the lifespan of the battery cells.

Disconnect Once Fully Charged

Do not leave the CARTA 3 connected to power longer than necessary. Disconnect the device once it reaches a full charge, and do not leave it charging overnight or unattended.

Choose a Safe Charging Location

Always charge your CARTA 3:

  • On a stable, non-flammable or fire-resistant surface
  • Away from direct sunlight
  • Away from heat sources
  • Away from water, moisture, and other liquids
  • In an area where you can monitor the device

Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures while charging or storing it. Do not attempt to open, modify, puncture, crush, or replace the internal battery. The CARTA 3 does not contain any user-serviceable battery components. Recommendations For the best balance of performance, safety, and battery longevity:

  • Fully charge the device before its first use.
  • Begin charging around the yellow battery level instead of waiting for the battery to fully drain.
  • Use only approved charging equipment.
  • Keep the device powered off when it is not in use.
  • Disconnect the charger once the battery is full.
  • Never charge the CARTA 3 unattended or overnight.
  • Replace any damaged charging cable before using it again.
