CARTA 3 — Cleaning the Atomizer

Updated Oct 12, 2026 2 min read

Regular cleaning is one of the most important ways to maintain your CARTA 3. Keeping the atomizer clean helps preserve flavor, maintain consistent vapor production, and extend the life of the atomizer.

For the best performance, follow this recommended cleaning schedule:

  • Swab the chamber: After every session
  • Soak the atomizer: Every 25 sessions
  • Perform a deep clean: Approximately every 50 sessions, or as needed

Routine maintenance helps prevent excessive residue buildup and reduces the need for frequent deep cleaning.

After Every Session

Once the atomizer has cooled to a safe temperature:

  1. Use DRY, clean cotton swab / dab swab to remove any remaining concentrate from the chamber. Using an iso-soaked atomizer while the chamber is still hot may induce cracking.
  2. Continue swabbing until the chamber appears clean.
  3. Avoid leaving excess residue inside the chamber, as it will continue to bake onto the ceramic during future sessions.

Deep Cleaning the Atomizer

Before You Begin: You will need 90% isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs, and a lint-free cloth.

Instructions

  1. 1
    Clean the Threads

Using a cotton swab lightly moistened with 90% isopropyl alcohol, gently clean the threads on the bottom of the atomizer.

  2. 2
    Remove Silicone Components

Carefully remove all silicone parts from the atomizer before soaking.

  3. 3
    Clean the Chamber

Using a cotton swab lightly dampened with 90% isopropyl alcohol, gently clean the inside of the atomizer chamber to remove any visible residue.

  4. 4
    Soak the Atomizer

Submerge only the atomizer in 90% isopropyl alcohol. Allow it to soak for approximately 5 minutes. If necessary, gently agitate the alcohol to help loosen stubborn residue. Important: Only the atomizer should be submerged. Do not soak any other components of the CARTA 3.

  5. 5
    Dry Completely

Remove the atomizer from the alcohol and allow it to air dry completely. Inspect the chamber for any remaining residue. If buildup is still present, repeat the soaking process as needed.

  6. 6
    Reassemble

Once the atomizer is completely dry: Reinstall all silicone components. Ensure everything is seated properly before reinstalling the atomizer onto the device.

Clean the Atomizer Contacts

To maintain a reliable connection between the atomizer and the device:

  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean the gold contact points on the bottom of the atomizer.
  • Finish by wiping the contacts with a clean, dry lint-free cloth before reinstalling the atomizer.

Cleaning Tips

  • Never clean or handle the atomizer while it is hot.
  • Always allow the atomizer to dry completely before reinstalling or using it.
  • Swabbing after every session dramatically reduces deep cleaning frequency.
  • Regular maintenance helps maximize flavor, vapor production, and the overall lifespan of the atomizer.
