Recommended items:
70% Isopropyl Alcohol, 50% Isopropyl Wipes, container or cup, small towel (paper towel), and a funnel.
Getting Everything Ready:
Begin by pouring 70% liquid isopropyl alcohol into a container that's safe for use with the alcohol. After that, disassemble your unit into its three main components: the CARTA 2 Base, Intelli-Core for Oil Atomizer, and the CARTA Glass Top. (Team Tip: It's beneficial to have two or three extra containers on hand for disposing of excess isopropyl alcohol or for pouring out rinse water).
*NOTE: If your atomizer seems to be jammed onto the unit, resist the urge to forcefully remove it. Instead, warm up the unit at the lowest setting to help it loosen. Wait until the atomizer cools down to room temperature and feels safe to touch before attempting to remove it.
Cleaning Your Intelli-Core for Oil:
Beginning with the atomizer, make sure it is cooled off and safe to handle before touching. Warming the atomizer can make removal safer and easier. Remove the atomizer from the base unit by grasping it from the lower cylinder and turning it counterclockwise. It should unthread easily without resistance. Once removed take off the silicone bumper and carb cap tether. Once all silicone accessories have been removed you can place your atomizer into your container with alcohol.
When you have everything broken down and sitting in your container, set a timer for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, give the dish a shake and remove the items. Thoroughly dry with a towel, using a swab to get into small crevices, and set aside in a dry or sunny area for 1-2 hours to fully dry. Make sure no moisture remains before reassembling.
Cleaning Your Glass Top:
Now that your atomizer is clean, let’s move on to that glass top. After removing the water from your glass top, grab your funnel and insert it or the isopropyl container into the mouthpiece of your glass top and fill to just over the perks. Then use the provided silicone stopper or your finger to cover the mouthpiece and shake for three, sixty-second sessions. Inspect the glass top for any remaining residue, and then pour out the isopropyl into your empty dish or container and then place the glass top standing upright into the container for about five to ten minutes, depending on the reclaim amount, as this will flush out any leftover wax in the bottom portion of the top. When things are looking ready to roll, fill and shake the glass top with water until all isopropyl is removed.
Cleaning your CARTA 2 Base:
Now let’s get the base cleaned up. Start by using your 50% isopropyl wipes to cleanse the atomizer connection points on the base. If you don't have wipes on hand, a dab swab soaked in 50%-70% isopropyl alcohol will do the trick. Pay special attention to the gold contact pin, ensuring no wax residues remain. For the base's silicone section that attaches to the glass top, gently wipe away any residue. If necessary, use an alcohol-dipped swab to clear the airpath linking the glass top and the atomizer. For any external stains on your base, gently rub using a clean wipe, then ensure it's dried immediately and thoroughly.
Simply reassemble your CARTA 2 device, and you're all set!
*NOTE Never pour any liquids directly onto the exterior of the base -- if exposed make sure to dry immediately.
*NOTE If you hear any crackling upon firing a session after a deep cleaning with isopropyl, immediately cancel the session and properly clean/dry the atomizer.
